If you have a private health fund, make sure you check your reset date to maximise your dental benefits while you’ve got them.
To help you make the most of your extras, here's our quick guide to using your health fund benefits before they expire.
First up, it’s a good idea to get familiar with your health fund policy so you know exactly what’s included. Take a look through your plan to find out which dental treatments are eligible for a rebate under your policy - that way, you’ll know which procedures you could book in for before your health fund resets.
If you haven’t visited your local National Dental Care Group practice for a check-up and clean in the last year, you could be eligible for a free check-up if you book in before the reset date.
Most health funds offer at least one dental check-up and clean per year with no gap, enabling you to claim the full cost of your check-up.
A check-up and clean is a great way to stay on top of your oral health and identify any potential issues which may require treatment. You’ll receive a thorough clean as well as a dental health assessment, plus you’ll have the opportunity to discuss any concerns with your dentist.
If you require dental treatments over the next few months, chat to your National Dental Care Group dentist about developing a customised treatment plan that lets you make the most of your available benefits.
We’re always happy to work your treatment plan around your health fund and any other requirements, so be sure to discuss this with your dentist.
If your health fund offers rebates for cosmetic dental treatments, you could take advantage of your extras and treat yourself to a brighter, whiter or straighter smile before your fund resets in July.
Check your health fund now and book in for eligible dental treatments before they run out. Make an appointment online and make the most of your health fund benefits.
