Refocus, Smile, Go! Straighten Your Smile in 2021 With Invisalign®

At National Dental Care Group, we believe everyone deserves the confidence of a beautiful smile. If you’ve been considering Invisalign® treatment to straighten your teeth, why not make 2021 the year you finally get the perfect smile you’ve always wanted?

Here’s all you need to know about Invisalign®, so you can step into the year ahead with a smile.

What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is a set of clear, custom-moulded aligners that gradually move your teeth into their ideal position. The aligners are designed using 3D computer imaging that allows your dentist to map out how your teeth will be moved into alignment.

Every few weeks, your aligners will be replaced with a new set to match the movement of your teeth.

What are the benefits of Invisalign® treatment for teeth straightening?

From their practically undetectable appearance to the convenience of being able to remove your aligners, there are many advantages of choosing Invisalign® to achieve a perfectly straight smile.

Here are some of the reasons why Invisalign® is so popular:

Invisalign® is virtually invisible

Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign® aligners are almost invisible, so most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them. With its clear design, Invisalign® lets you straighten your teeth without feeling self-conscious, so you can enjoy the confidence of going out and about knowing your aligners are practically invisible.

Invisalign® aligners are removable

As Invisalign® aligners are easy to remove, you can simply take them out when eating, drinking or brushing your teeth. This is a big advantage over fixed metal braces which have to stay put. While it’s not advisable to remove your aligners for long periods of time, the fact they can be taken out when required adds to the convenience and comfort of Invisalign®.

Invisalign® is comfortable to wear

A major plus of choosing Invisalign® is that the aligners are much more comfortable than traditional metal braces, as there are no metal brackets or wires that can irritate the mouth. You may experience a little discomfort at the beginning of your treatment and for a few days each time your aligners are replaced, but this won’t last long and is a sign that your teeth are being moved into position.

Invisalign® works faster than traditional braces

In general, the Invisalign® process takes between nine and fifteen months, which for most people will be around four months less than the process for traditional metal braces. The exact treatment time for Invisalign® will differ for each patient - your dentist will be able to provide you with a clear timeframe after your initial assessment.

You’ll be able to see what your teeth will look like in advance

Your Invisalign® aligners are developed using an advanced 3D imaging device called an iTero® scanner, which digitally maps out the current position of your teeth and gums in just a few minutes. Using this virtual technology, your dentist will also be able to show you what your smile could look like after the Invisalign® treatment.

Invisalign® can help to correct a wide range of dental issues

Invisalign® teeth straightening is effective at correcting a variety of dental problems, making this treatment a suitable option for the majority of people. In certain cases, Invisalign® may not be recommended, such as if you have missing teeth or a severe underbite or overbite. In these instances, your dentist will discuss alternative solutions with you.
