Paediatric Dentist
I am a general dental practitioner who exclusively practices oral surgery. I have degrees from both the University of Western Australia and the University of Sydney, graduating from Dentistry in 2006.
My interest in oral surgery began in dental school. I returned from the UK to work in the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia where I was based in the General and Specialist Clinic, the Oral Surgery department at Sir Charles Gardner Hospital and tutored undergraduate dental students in oral surgery and pediatric dentistry.
I am a member of the Australian Dental Association, the British Association of Oral Surgeons, and the Royal College of Surgeons in England. Increasing demand has allowed me to focus my clinical practice entirely on oral surgery, which mainly revolves around the removal of wisdom teeth, removal of difficult/complex teeth including failed extractions, treatment of the medically compromised patient.
My patients are able to undertake comfortable treatment regardless of complexity with extremely low complication rates and rapid recovery.

Awarded a First Class Honours degree, Bachelor of Dental Surgery from University of Wales College of Medicine in 2008 during which I completed an Erasmus exchange to Malmo, Sweden. Subsequently completed General Professional Training in both practice-based dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the Southwest of England.
I relocated to Perth seven years ago and have enjoyed furthering my skills in all areas of general practice; with my practising mantra being ‘prevention without over-intervention’.
I pride myself on providing an optimal level of care and a positive experience for every patient that I have the privilege of caring for. I have particular interests in the fields of restorative and cosmetic dentistry and am registered as an Invisalign provider.
Dr Mahesh Thyagarajan
Dentist
I was born, raised and educated in Bombay, India. After completing my Bachelors in Dental Surgery in Bombay, I did my Masters in Dentistry in the branch of Prosthodontics from Ryazan State university in Russia. Returning to live and work at my practice in Bombay, I then moved to Dubai, UAE where I worked as a general dentist for about two years.
My wife and I moved to Australia in 2009 to start our adventure and life here. I have loved living and working in WA and participating in the community here. Work is a big part of my busy life and I enjoy all the myriad aspects of dentistry, especially full mouth rehabilitations, implant surgery, surgical wisdom teeth extractions, fixed orthodontics (braces) and Invisalign. Having worked in the field of dentistry for over 20 years, I find great joy in sharing my knowledge of the field and mentoring junior dentists in this complex but invigorating field. I am an extremely experienced dentist and love to put my patients at ease, have a nice chat with them, get to know them and become friends, thus building a robust, life-long relationship.
In my limited but precious spare time I love spending time with my family. I find joy in keeping fit with pilates, going for long walks, playing with my son. I would love to find time to do more volunteering work. Currently I go for plantation drives in ecologically challenged areas around Perth. I am passionate about the environment and would like to do more. I would also like to one day pursue lessons in golf and sailing and go back to dragon-boating like I used to.
A detailed description is being written.
I graduated from the University of Manchester (UK) in 2004. A few years later, I completed my Postgraduate course at the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute in London, obtaining a Certificate in Restorative Dentistry.
I worked in a private practice in London for 14 years before relocating to Perth in 2018. I strongly believe in minimally invasive treatment and always advise the simplest treatments in the first instance.
My focus is largely on providing quality gentle dentistry. My special interest is in Restorative dentistry which includes crowns, veneers, bridges, root canal treatments to name a few. I am also fluent in Gujarati.
Dr Sundar Varadharajan
Dentist
Sundar started his career in general dental private practice in beautiful Rotorua in New Zealand in the year 2008 and moved to Queensland for a couple of years before calling Perth home in 2012. He enjoyed a special interest in aesthetic dentistry and rehabilitation using CAD-CAM technology for seven years as a general practitioner in Perth. He underwent a rigorous three years of speciality training in Prosthodontics (Doctor of clinical dentistry) at the University of Western Australia. During this time, he trained at the Maxillofacial unit at Fiona Stanley hospital and now continues to work there as a consultant Prosthodontist.
Sundar is a member of the Australian Prosthodontic Society (APS), Academy of Australian and New Zealand prosthodontists (ANZAP) and the International College of Prosthodontists (ICP). He is also a clinical tutor at the Oral health centre of WA and enjoys teaching the next generation of dental graduates.
Sundar has a great eye for detail and is as passionate about achieving the perfect aesthetic restorative outcome for his patients as he is about slicing the perfect juliennes for his dishes! Outside of work, he loves spending time outdoors, camping with his wife Vaish and their gorgeous two children while keeping up with domestic and international cricket and dishing up Indian delicacies for friends over weekends.
Dr Vaish Gopalakrishnan
Paediatric Dentist
Dr Vaish Gopalakrishnan completed her dentistry in 2007 and knew straightaway she wanted to work with children. She worked at a Paediatric dental practice for a year before she moved to Hong Kong to pursue her Masters in Dental surgery (Paediatric dentistry) from the prestigious University of Hong Kong dental school. In 2011, she moved to Australia and in 2013 joined the Doctor in Clinical dentistry, Paediatric dentistry program offered through UWA to pursue further post graduate training in paediatric dentistry.
In the 18 months of this training she worked at the Princess Margaret hospital dental department, attended emergency on calls, was actively involved in management of new-born babies with cleft lip and palate and the cleft clinic, along with management of medically compromised children while also seeing to patients at the Oral health centre of WA. She completed her Membership exams in paediatric dentistry with the Royal Australian college of dental surgeons. She has also briefly worked in the School dental service and at the new Perth Children’s Hospital dental department.
Dr Vaish is passionate about working with children and this is obvious in the way she handles them, she is patient and caring with the anxious little ones and believes her most important job is to give each child a positive experience and let them grow into happy dental patients! She goes out of her way to help parents understand the needs of the child and make them comfortable with the plan.
Dr Vaish consults at our Cottesloe, Currambine and Baldivis practices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. She also treats patients who need a general anaesthetic through Southbank Day Surgery.
In her spare time, she is a busy mom of two and loves spending time with her children, cooking and is working on her gardening skills!
