The power of regular check-ups

Even with the best oral hygiene routine, dental problems can still arise. In fact, about 9 out of every 10 adults in Australia have experienced dental decay**, which can lead to cavities.

Left untreated, cavities can result in infection, pain and even tooth loss.

A check-up every 6 months is the best way to keep dental decay at bay. Our dentists always provide a thorough check to detect any issues early, before they become advanced and potentially more costly to treat.

During your check-up, we’ll perform a thorough inspection of your teeth and gums, and be on the lookout for signs of these common issues:

  • Cavities
  • Tooth decay
  • Sensitivity
  • Gum disease

Your appointment will also include a professional clean, scale and floss, as well as the opportunity to discuss any additional concerns you may have.

Oral health is linked to overall health too

The benefits of regular check-ups extend well beyond a healthy smile. Studies show there is a connection between gum disease and conditions including diabetes, heart disease and even Alzheimer's disease.
So a 6-monthly check-up brings peace of mind that you’re helping protect both the health of your mouth and your body.

Frequently asked questions

Extras cover is health insurance for treatments that aren’t covered by Medicare or hospital cover. It includes dental, optical, physio and other healthcare services usually performed outside of hospital.

The best way to find out exactly what your dental cover includes is to log in to your health fund member account and check your policy details. Many dental insurance plans include gap-free* check-ups as part of your dental cover.

‘Gap-free’ means the cost of your check-up appointment is totally covered by your health fund, so you don’t pay any out-of-pocket costs on the day.

We accept all major health insurance providers and are proud to be the preferred provider of many funds.

Our practiceis equipped with HICAPS facilities, which means you can claim your dental health insurance rebate on the spot.

This largely depends on your individual needs, but there are many reputable health insurance funds in Australia that include dental health coverage.

Many of our patients claim through:

  • BUPA dental cover
  • HCF dental cover
  • nib dental cover
  • HBF dental cover
  • Medibank dental cover

We offer flexible, interest-free payment plans that enable you to access the treatment you need right away, while paying the cost in instalments over time:

  • Afterpay
Pay for treatments on the same day using Afterpay (a maximum cost of $1,500) and split the cost of your repayments into four equal instalments over an 8–week period.

Terms and conditions

The cost of NDC Australia Pty Ltd. dental treatments and services may be covered by your health fund, and our practices accept all major health funds. Please check with your health fund to determine whether you are eligible for a ‘gap-free’ check-up (as cover levels and benefits can vary between health funds), when your dental extras reset and to understand the implications of using your health fund benefits, including that this may result in you having less available benefits in the future for other health services.
