Dentist
Dr Ala Michalewska has rapidly built a reputation as a gentle and thoughtful clinician who endeavours to deliver the best possible dental care to her patients. She knows how important it is to listen and have knowledge of the patient’s concerns and previous experiences in order to understand your unique dental needs and to turn dental treatment into a positive experience.
Her expertise includes a broad range of clinical skills, with a special emphasis on providing “gentle dentistry”. Her specific interests embrace family and cosmetic dentistry with extensive experience providing high quality care to all ages. She’s great with kids.
Dr Ala is a graduate from the University of Sydney with an Honours degree in Dentistry, as well as a degree in Biochemistry and Chemistry. She spent some time practicing in Sydney before leaving for the bush in search of new challenges. During her time in regional New South Wales she was able to develop a broad range of clinical skills and interests. Dr Ala has now settled in Brisbane to be with her husband.
Dr Ala remains committed to the provision of excellence in dentistry by attending regular Continuing Education courses. She is a member of the Australia Dental Association.
In her spare time, Ala enjoys baking and cooking for her loved ones, and regularly practices Yoga and Pilates.
Alice Nolland
Oral Health Therapist
Alice Nolland is a passionate Oral Health Therapist who uses the newest technology to deliver gentle and thorough dental treatment.
Alice is enthusiastic about dental education for everyone of all ages and enjoys doing education demonstrations and answering dental questions. Alice is dual qualified with a Bachelor of Oral Health and Therapy from the University of Newcastle.
Outside of work, Alice loves adventure, anime, gaming, and her Maine Coon cat, Milim.
Dr Ariel Shih graduated from Bachelor of Dental Surgery at James Cook University with the Pierre Fauchard Award for academic excellence and leadership. She is fluent in Chinese Mandarin, Taiwanese as well as English.
Dr Shih has had experience working in many different settings in Vanuatu, Cairns, Tasmania and Proserpine before returning home to Brisbane again in 2017. She is committed to delivering the best quality dentistry, while providing a stress-free dental experience for her patients.
Outside of work, Ariel is also very passionate about classical music. She plays the violin and the piano, and is a violinist in the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra.
Dr Daniel dedicates himself to providing his patients the highest standard of care, delivered in a gentle and caring approach. He understands that dentistry is not just about teeth, but also about looking after his patients as a whole.
Graduating from The University of Queensland with Honours, Dr Daniel has had experience treating patients in rural and regional Queensland, which has allowed him to further develop his clinical skills.
His passions lie in minimally invasive restorative and aesthetic procedures from a strong evidence based background. Dr Daniel is also a big advocate for improving oral hygiene, and endeavours to assist patients with achieving and maintaining optimum oral health.
When he’s not at work, you’ll often find Dr Daniel on the court as he is a passionate tennis, volleyball and basketball player. He also enjoys playing piano, reading and listening to podcasts.
Dr Ersan Karadeniz
Dentist
Dr Ersan Karadeniz completed his Bachelor of Dentistry at Hacettepe University, one of the most prestigious universities in Turkey before moving to Sydney to embark into a Doctor of Philosophy in Orthodontics at the University of Sydney where he was awarded a PhD in Orthodontics in 2011. In 2012, he returned to Turkey to fulfill clinical training in Orthodontics at Karadeniz Technical University where he also worked as Assistant Professor in Orthodontics until 2017.
In 2017, he moved back to Australia with his family and worked as full-time Senior Lecturer in Orthodontics at James Cook University, Cairns where he was actively involved in teaching, research, academia and clinical practice.
Ersan holds a specialist Orthodontist registration in Turkey, he is a member of the Australian Dental Association, World Federation of Orthodontists, European Orthodontic Society and Turkish Orthodontic Society. Ersan has published several scientific articles in major peer-reviewed orthodontic journals.
Ersan is a general dentist with special interest in Orthodontics in Australia. He enjoys treating children, adolescents and adults. He aims to achieve the best dental and facial outcomes, while making orthodontic treatment the most enjoyable experience for all his patients.
Outside of dental practice, Ersan enjoys barbecues with friends and family and is a strong supporter of Trabzonspor, his hometown football club.
Kylie Saint
Oral Health Therapist
Our Dental Hygienist Kylie has over 20 years dental experience. She has gained extensive dental experience in both the public sector as well as private practice. She is uniquely qualified to aid with the management of oral disease, focusing on periodontal health and education.
Her role as a Dental Hygienist is to perform periodontal maintenance as well as administering advice on periodontal disease prevention, oral hygiene techniques, nutrition, use of fluoride and quitting smoking. Kylie’s work compliments that of our dentists and she will endeavour to make your visit as comfortable and informative as possible.
Outside of work Kylie likes to spend time with her husband, two children and two playful pugs.
Dr Laura completed her studies at Griffith University, graduating with a Bachelor of Oral Health (Dental Science) and a Graduate Diploma of Dentistry. She has always had a passion for art and science, which is what inspired her to purse a career in dentistry.
Laura has an easy going personality which helps with putting anxious and young patients at ease. With a calm and gentle demeanour, she strives to make every patient’s experience a friendly and enjoyable one. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry particularly paediatrics, orthodontics and oral surgery.
Laura likes to broaden her knowledge and skills by attending various continuing professional development courses so that she can provide the best and most up-to-date treatments for her patients.
Outside of work, Laura enjoys being an avid foodie, rock climbing and spending time with loved ones.
Dr Matt Pagliano
Lead Dentist
Dr Matt Pagliano is a very caring and attentive dentist. His two dental passions are aesthetics and oral hygiene; he wants you to have a beautiful healthy mouth and believes this is achievable for everyone regardless of past history. He feels no one should be embarrassed of their teeth when they come to see him, he can’t wait to make you feel happy about your smile. Matt is very thorough and will do his utmost to give you all the information you need to maintain your perfect teeth.
Having graduated from the University of Queensland with honours, Matt spent three years practicing in Sydney before returning home to sunny Queensland to settle down. You are likely to see him walking his Frenchie or kitten around Newstead with his partner. In his spare time Matt enjoys cooking, sewing and seeing friends.
Matt is also a member of the Australian Dental Association and strives to be up to date with the latest dental technology and research.
Mayra completed her dentistry degree in 2008 in Brazil, her home country. She then moved to the UK where she concluded a Masters Program in Dental Public Health at UCL.
Mayra is passionate about dentistry, and the time spent studying has given her a unique insight to dentistry, specifically how oral health can significantly improve the general quality of life of her patients. She believes in a holistic dental approach and is committed to developing an honest and friendly relationship with her patients to ultimately help them to achieve the smile they deserve and improve their quality of life.
Following the completion of her studies in the UK, Mayra moved to Adelaide where she obtained an Advanced Diploma in Oral Health with the focus on Preventative Dentistry and treatment of gum disease.
Mayra moved to the Brisbane in 2013 where she successfully passed the dental board exams and became fully qualified dentist and member of the Australian Dental Association.
Zoe Shih
Oral Health Therapist
A gentle, approachable and caring Oral Health Therapist focused on preventive dentistry and helping you and your family maintain your smiles. Zoe graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Queensland dental school in 2014. Upon graduating, Zoe worked with Queensland Health School Dental Services in the Wide Bay region where she gained great experience in managing young children.
She then worked in a family dental clinic in Far North Queensland for two years before moving home to Brisbane. During this time, Zoe further completed a Graduate Certificate in Dental Therapy at the University of Melbourne allowing her to advance in clinical practice and provide restorative dental treatment for patients of all ages. Zoe enjoys participating in local community activities and had also volunteered to outreach areas such as Malekula Island of Vanuatu where the team provided emergency dental treatment for local school-aged children.
In her spare time, Zoe enjoys photography, music and playing badminton. Zoe is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
