At National Dental Care, Mawson Lakes, we understand that going to the dentist can be stressful, which is why we devote our time in making sure you feel at ease. Whether that is through information, friendliness and empathy or pain management such as laughing gas, we are always here for you.
With a history, spanning over 20 years, National Dental Care, Mawson Lakes, is a complete and newly refurbed practice, utilising modern treatment rooms and state of art equipment. Our team of professional dentists, dental hygienists and dental therapists are friendly, caring and highly experienced.
On arrival for your first visit, you can expect a thorough dental examination to assess the current state of your oral health. A complete medical history will be undertaken so it is important to remember to bring along a list of any medications you are currently taking. Certain medical conditions and medications may affect your oral health.
Parking is available in the Market Square shopping centre car park.

Dr Amr Bassiouny graduated in 2005, before returning to achieve a Postgraduate Diploma in Endodontics.
Dr Bassiouny then ran a private dental clinic for 9 years overseas before relocating to Australia in 2021. Amr loves that in practicing dentistry, he can help patients to relieve their pain.
Outside of work, Amr enjoys outdoor activities. He has recently been introduced to rock climbing, in addition to his love of soccer and cycling.
Dr Anu Singla graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) Degree In 2006 and has been gaining extensive dental experience and knowledge since. She fulfilled her ambition by continuing studies to graduate with the Australian Dental council.
Anu is passionate about dentistry and is committed to continued education and keeping up with the latest updates and trends in dental treatment. She regularly attends continuing education seminars and is a member of the Australian Dental Association.
Anu enjoys all aspects of general dentistry with a focus on aesthetic (cosmetic) dentistry. She takes pride in creating beautiful and functional smiles for her patients. Anu is known for her caring and compassionate persona as she puts a particular focus on addressing patient concerns and patient comfort.
Outside of dentistry, Anu loves spending time with her young family and keeping up with her sons’ cricket. She satisfies her creative flair by interior designing, painting, and home renovation projects.

I have been a Dental Therapist with our practice since the start of 2007.
I graduated from my Bachelor of Oral Health (BOH) from the University of Adelaide in 2006. In my final year of study, I received a scholarship from the University of Adelaide to attend and present at the World Oral Health Week Seminars held at the INHolland University in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
I am dedicated to maintaining the oral health of children, teenagers and young adults. In particular, I deal with many anxious patients and endeavour to create a relaxing and safe environment where my patients can feel at ease.
I have a special interest in; – Single Visit Tooth Whitening using the SMARTBleach system. – Children’s Dentistry, – Sports Mouth Guards
Elma Cancar

Elma Cancar graduated from The University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Oral Health Degree (OHT). She is dual qualified to work as a Dental Therapist which includes preventive and restorative work for children up to age of 18 and as a Hygienist for all ages.
Special interests of Elma's are working with children and making their dental visits positive and a fun experience, teeth whitening, periodontics; prevention and treatment of gum diseases and working with anxious patients.
Elma is married with two kids. Her daughter Ayla studies Physiotherapy at university and her son Edin is in high school. In their spare time the family loves to go camping, fishing and travelling together as a family.
Dr Emma Freeman graduated from the University of Adelaide with awards from the Australian Society of Orthodontists and the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. She has since practiced on the Spencer Gulf before joining the team at National Dental Care, Mawson Lakes. She enjoys practising all fields of dentistry and gains satisfaction from providing patients with high quality care.
Emma understands that a visit to the dentist can be daunting for some, and does everything in her power to make patients feel comfortable and relaxed.
Dr Freeman is passionate about building relationships with her patients, as well as practising and pursuing continuing education in all areas of dentistry to deliver lasting outcomes in function, comfort and aesthetics.
Dr Maree Bicopoulos

I graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Dentistry and have worked in Canberra, Darwin and Wagga Wagga. I enjoy all aspects of dentistry and have special interests in oral surgery, cosmetic dentistry and treating nervous patients and children.
In my spare time I enjoy doing Pilates, reading and spending time with my partner, our daughter and our dog.
Dr Peter Nguyen studied locally, graduating from the University of Adelaide in 2015. Working in a rural setting has allowed him to increase his scope of practice and has fostered a strong focus on preventative dentistry. His caring and gentle manner is appreciated and respected by patients. In his spare time Peter enjoys golf, soccer and playing the guitar.
His areas of interest are; Cosmetic dentistry; Composite Resin Veneers; Tooth Coloured Porcelain Fillings using CEREC; Paediatric dentistry; making it a relaxing environment for your children; Diode Lasers for Soft Tissue and Cosmetic procedures.
Being in the field of dentistry from past 15 years , Ribia emphasises in promoting healthy dental habits. She believes in caring for every patient as a family, providing comfort and trust alongside the treatment needs.
Ribia first had the inspiration to enter the field of dentistry as a teen, when she developed a keen interest in the art and science involved in dentistry. She did her graduation and postgraduation degree in prosthodontics in 2013 in India and practised in a hospital for nearly four years before moving to Australia. Ribia's area of expertise lies in complete dentures, crowns and fixed bridges.
During her free time, she loves gardening, listening soft music and spending time with her family.
Dr Sarah Caruso
Lead Dentist
Dr Sarah Caruso is a graduate of The University of Adelaide Bachelor of Dental Surgery program. After practicing as a Dentist in Adelaide's Northern suburbs for the past 12 years she has developed a loyal patient following and reputation as a caring practitioner and well respected colleague.
As the lead Dentist she oversees clinical operations within the practice and provides a broad scope of treatment for some of our patients with more complex restorative, cosmetic and rehabilitative dental needs. Dr Caruso has a thorough yet friendly approach, working to understand every patients unique situation in order to achieve the best outcome for both long term dental health and a beautiful smile. She has extensive further training in Invisalign, implants, cosmetic dentistry, CEREC and oral surgery and is able to provide both Regional Anaesthesia and Intravenous Sedation options to patients who suffer with dental anxiety.
Dr Caruso is a member of the Australian dental Association and the Australian society of implant dentistry. She has contributed to oversees dental training projects in Cambodia and Vanuatu as well teaching within the University of Adelaide Dental School . She also currently represents SA on National Dental Cares Clinical Advisory Committee.
Outside of dentistry, Sarah is married to husband Adrian ( a physiotherapist) and mum to 3 year old April, dog Stella and chicken Fifi.
I feel blessed to have my passion as my profession. Its almost been 13 years since I graduated and practicing dentistry and every single day is full of excitement to bring positive change in people's smile and life. I received a post graduate title in 2012 and served as a clinician and academician for few years in India before moving to beautiful land of Australia.
Aesthetic/Cosmetic dentistry and Invisalign is something which my patients as well as myself enjoy the most as it can do a complete makeover of one's personality. Along with providing complete dental care, I focus on relieving anxiety of my patients towards dental treatment. I am a firm believer of "Prevention is better than cure", so I always spare some time at the end of appointment to educate my patients about good oral hygiene practices for maintaining optimum health.
Outside of work, I enjoy writing. I have a cute little son who keeps me busy and my hands full.
Truc Lam
Oral Health Therapist
Truc Lam completed a Bachelor of Oral health in 2010 from Adelaide University.
She is trained as a dental hygienist and therapist, treating patients of all ages including children. Truc has a passion for preventive dentistry and has a particular interest in the maintenance and treatment of gum disease and also treating anxious patients, especially young children.
Outside of work she enjoys travelling, hiking and spending time with friends and family.
