Dr. Amir Samad
Lead Dentist | BDS FRACDS (GDP)
Since graduating as a dentist in 2007, I’ve kept up my own professional development over time by completing multiple dental training courses. I like to offer my patients excellence in all aspects of dental care and keep myself up to date with the latest skills and technology. In 2015, I completed the FRACDS examinations and gained the Fellowship in General Practice.
I have a keen interest in restorative dentistry and have recently been improving my skills in the field of periodontics and implant dentistry by studying a Graduate Diploma of Dental Implantology at Charles Stuart University. Apart from applying my studies in the practice, I also enjoy teaching aspiring dental students. Up until recently, I was a clinical supervisor at the James Cook University School of Medicine and Dentistry and this gave me an incredible experience mentoring young students.
I can speak multiple languages such as Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi and Pashto, to assist with anyone who feels more comfortable speaking their native tongue. When I’m not in the dental practice you’ll find me playing or watching cricket, and spending time with my family.

After graduating from the University of Otago in 2001 with a Bachelor of Dental Science, I set out on a great adventure, experiencing both work and life in New Zealand and areas of Australia. In 2006, I relocated to Sydney and started my own dental practice in the Sydney CBD. I enjoyed my years there, building strong relationships with my patients, however the demands of my young family saw us relocating to Brisbane to find a better work/life balance. I have since then enjoyed being a Brisbane local, and have loved being a part of National Dental Care’s growing family of caring and passionate clinicians.
I enjoy all aspects of dental care, from simple fillings to ceramic fillings and crowns, endodontics treatment and restoration of implants. I am continually humbled and grateful that I am able to do what I love every day. My passion for helping people gain/re-gain control of their own health seems to grow with every patient interaction!

“I called Malaysia home till one day, my family and I decided to live the “Australian Dream”, and so we packed our bags and arrived here in the “Lucky Country”. We have called Springfield Lakes our home for the last 10 years.
After leaving dental school, I worked for Queensland Health before landing here at NDC Springfield Central. This is a great opportunity for me to share my passion for dentistry with other members of the community.
My professional mantra is “Prevention is better than cure”. For me personally, being a Dentist is about listening to, caring for and guiding a friend to take complete charge of their oral health. It is a team effort to achieve the common goal of patient satisfaction.
Outside of work, I love to cook and spend time with my wife and daughter.”

I graduated from the University of Queensland in 1997, with a Bachelor of Dental Science. I have been working as a general dentist ever since I graduated, gaining experience in both public and private practices. I enjoy applying myself to all aspects of dentistry, and have a particular interest in orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry and Computer Aided Design (CAD)/Computer Aided Manufacture (CAM) dental techniques, including ceramic restoration.
I am married, with two young children, and enjoy spending whatever spare time I have with them—preferably at the beach!
