Dr. Marta Kozera

Dr Marta Kozera is a caring and gentle dentist dedicated to ensuring your comfort while providing the highest quality dental care.

Marta completed her Dentistry degree from the University of Sydney with Honours and was awarded the Anthony P. Martin Prize in Clinical Endodontics upon graduation. She also holds a Biomedical Science degree majoring in Forensic Biology. Upon graduating from dentistry, she has worked in family dental practices in Newcastle and Goondiwindi before returning to Queensland to call Brisbane home after the birth of her second child.

Marta enjoys all aspects of dentistry, but has a special interest in treating children and their families. Marta believes strongly in continuing education, regularly attending professional development courses locally and abroad in all aspects of general dentistry and is a member of the Australian Dental Association.

Marta is a mother of three young boys Liam, Henry and Cameron. She also enjoys spending time at the local farmers markets and cooking with her family as well as hunting for the best coffee in Brisbane.

Dr. Kieran McNamara

Dr Kieran McNamara is passionate about giving the highest standard of patient care. He graduated from the University of Sydney with honours in a Bachelor of Dentistry and previously completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Queensland University.

Dr McNamara has spent a few busy years living and working in Country Queensland and Newcastle and is pleased to return to Brisbane.

Dr McNamara’s interests lie in cosmetic dentistry, tooth replacement and dental implants. He is an accredited member of The Australian Society of Implant Dentistry and completed the Master Clinician Program in Implant Dentistry with the GIDE Institute at UCLA in 2011.

Outside of dentistry Kieran loves spending time with his wife and three sons. He enjoys living an active lifestyle that includes running, cycling and hockey. He is also a regular attender of the New Farm Parkrun and markets with his wife and young family.

Dr. Ala Michalewska

Dr Ala Michalewska has rapidly built a reputation as a gentle and thoughtful clinician who endeavours to deliver the best possible dental care to her patients. She knows how important it is to listen and have knowledge of the patient’s concerns and previous experiences in order to understand your unique dental needs and to turn dental treatment into a positive experience. Her expertise includes a broad range of clinical skills, with a special emphasis on providing “gentle dentistry”. Her specific interests embrace family and cosmetic dentistry with extensive experience providing high quality care to all ages. She’s great with kids.

Dr Ala is a graduate from the University of Sydney with an Honours degree in Dentistry, as well as a degree in Biochemistry and Chemistry. She spent some time practicing in Sydney before leaving for the bush in search of new challenges. During her time in regional New South Wales she was able to develop a broad range of clinical skills and interests. Dr Ala has now settled in Brisbane to be with her husband.

Dr Ala remains committed to the provision of excellence in dentistry by attending regular Continuing Education courses. She is a member of the Australia Dental Association.

In her spare time, Ala enjoys baking and cooking for her loved ones, and regularly practices yoga and pilates.

Dr Raisa Tasnim

Dentist  |  BOH (Dent Sci), Grad Dip Dent (QLD)

Dr Raisa Tasnim graduated from the Griffith University Dental School with awards for academic excellence. She has been involved in the private and public sector in South-East Queensland. Passionate about improving access to oral health, she has also been a volunteer dentist for outreach clinics based in Nepal and Cambodia.

Raisa recently joined the team at Newstead in 2018 after making the move up from Gold Coast. With her empathetic and reassuring nature, she is committed to alleviating patient anxiety in the dental chair. As such, Raisa’s priority is taking her time with each patient to help them improve and maintain their oral health to the highest standard.

Beyond dentistry, Raisa enjoys the performing arts and has been involved in several theatre productions. She is a keen traveller, self-proclaimed ‘foodie’ and in her spare time maintains a creative writing blog. In Brisbane, she loves exploring the local markets and buying indoor plants for her collection.

Dr Chirali Patel

Dentist  |  BDS (Hons) Cardiff, MFDS RCS (Edinburgh)

Dr Chirali Patel grew up in a small town in Wales, UK before graduating at Cardiff Uni in 2013. She offers a wide range of treatment and has worked with children, to patients with disabilities, the elderly and in the hospital alongside the maxillofacial team as a senior house officer. Chirali was a volunteer in 2012 in Ghana with a team of 23 undergraduates and 4 Dentist to help those who have never visited a dentist in their lives. Dr Chirali can speak arrange of languages from English to Hindi and Gujarati

Chirali moved to Australia in 2018 to further her career and sample life in the Southern Hemisphere.  She is extremely passionate about her profession. Outside of work Chirali enjoy travelling, socialising keeping fit and taking on new challenges. Currently she is learning how to do salsa and bachata dancing.

Zoe Shih

Oral Health Therapist  |  BOH (UQ), GCertDenThrpy (Melb)

A gentle, approachable and caring Oral Health Therapist focused on preventive dentistry and helping you and your family maintain your smiles.

Zoe graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Queensland dental school in 2014. Upon graduating, Zoe worked with Queensland Health School Dental Services in the Wide Bay region where she gained great experience in managing young children. She then worked in a family dental clinic in Far North Queensland for two years before moving home to Brisbane.

During this time, Zoe further completed a Graduate Certificate in Dental Therapy at the University of Melbourne allowing her to advance in clinical practice and provide restorative dental treatment for patients of all ages.

Zoe enjoys participating in local community activities and had also volunteered to outreach areas such as Malekula Island of Vanuatu where the team provided emergency dental treatment for local school-aged children. In her spare time, Zoe enjoys photography, music and playing badminton. Zoe is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

Dr Isabel Leong

Dentist  |  B Dent Hons (Qld)

Isabel graduated from the University of Queensland in 2007 with Honours and was also awarded the Dental Board of Queensland Prize in Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology. Isabel has a special interest in Endodontics as well as cosmetic dentistry. She has a keen eye for detail and is very gentle with patients. 

 

Since graduation Isabel has worked in the private sector in Brisbane and had previously owned a dental practice. Over these years Isabel had looked after entire families whereby she had seen patients coming in as little children growing into their teens. 

 

Outside of Dentistry, Isabel enjoys miniature dollhouse and clay modelling, playing the piano, travelling, and have travelled to various places including Iceland where she observed the Aurora Borealis.
