Dr. Ala Michalewska

Dr Ala Michalewska has rapidly built a reputation as a gentle and thoughtful clinician who endeavours to deliver the best possible dental care to her patients. She knows how important it is to listen and have knowledge of the patient’s concerns and previous experiences in order to understand your unique dental needs and to turn dental treatment into a positive experience. Her expertise includes a broad range of clinical skills, with a special emphasis on providing “gentle dentistry”. Her specific interests embrace family and cosmetic dentistry with extensive experience providing high quality care to all ages. She’s great with kids.
Dr Ala is a graduate from the University of Sydney with an Honours degree in Dentistry, as well as a degree in Biochemistry and Chemistry. She spent some time practicing in Sydney before leaving for the bush in search of new challenges. During her time in regional New South Wales she was able to develop a broad range of clinical skills and interests. Dr Ala has now settled in Brisbane to be with her husband.
Dr Ala remains committed to the provision of excellence in dentistry by attending regular Continuing Education courses. She is a member of the Australia Dental Association.
In her spare time, Ala enjoys baking and cooking for her loved ones, and regularly practices yoga and pilates.
Dr Raisa Tasnim

Dr Raisa Tasnim graduated from the Griffith University Dental School with awards for academic excellence. She has been involved in the private and public sector in South-East Queensland. Passionate about improving access to oral health, she has also been a volunteer dentist for outreach clinics based in Nepal and Cambodia.
Raisa recently joined the team at Newstead in 2018 after making the move up from Gold Coast. With her empathetic and reassuring nature, she is committed to alleviating patient anxiety in the dental chair. As such, Raisa’s priority is taking her time with each patient to help them improve and maintain their oral health to the highest standard.
Beyond dentistry, Raisa enjoys the performing arts and has been involved in several theatre productions. She is a keen traveller, self-proclaimed ‘foodie’ and in her spare time maintains a creative writing blog. In Brisbane, she loves exploring the local markets and buying indoor plants for her collection.

Zoe graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Queensland dental school in 2014. Upon graduating, Zoe worked with Queensland Health School Dental Services in the Wide Bay region where she gained great experience in managing young children. She then worked in a family dental clinic in Far North Queensland for two years before moving home to Brisbane.
During this time, Zoe further completed a Graduate Certificate in Dental Therapy at the University of Melbourne allowing her to advance in clinical practice and provide restorative dental treatment for patients of all ages.
Zoe enjoys participating in local community activities and had also volunteered to outreach areas such as Malekula Island of Vanuatu where the team provided emergency dental treatment for local school-aged children. In her spare time, Zoe enjoys photography, music and playing badminton. Zoe is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
