Your Team - National Dental Care

Dr. Anthony Bartholomaeus

Dentist  |  BDS (ADEL).

I graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1982 and immediately commenced working in general dentistry with my father. I worked in London for a year in 1984 to broaden my experience, before moving back to general practice in North Adelaide with my father until his retirement in 2000, at which time we introduced hygienists to the practice. I enjoy reconstructive dentistry, helping to restore heavily filled or broken down teeth. It is satisfying to help patients out of pain, to eat comfortably, and improve their dental appearance and therefore their confidence. I am happily married with four grown children. Outside of dentistry I enjoy getting outdoors, seeing as much of Australia as possible, walking and fishing around Kangaroo Island.

Kellie Macdonald

I graduated from the Torrens Valley TAFE College in 2000 with a Diploma of Dental Hygiene. I my career, have worked at various general and orthodontic practices, including 2 years in Canberra and a year at a periodontal practice in Switzerland. I chose this career path from a desire to work with people. I enjoy all areas of dentistry, but have a particular passon for treating children. I love working with a great team, and getting to know my patients beyond just their teeth. I work hard to maintain a gentle manner, and patient comfort is a priority. I work with my patients to build their confidence. I devote part-time work to being the State Coordinator for the South Australia Branch of the National Dental Foundation, and charity that coordinates volunteer dentists with the underprivileged. In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, the outdoors, and spending time with my family and friends.

I attended the Gilles Plains College of TAFE SA, studying to be a dental therapist, and graduated in 1988. I have since pursued further study, attending lectures and conferences to stay up to date on dental developments. I worked at Melbourne Street Dental for 23 years and am currently enjoying being part of the National Dental Care team at Bart Dental. As a dental assistant, I love oral surgery and as a hygienist I enjoy all aspects of general dentistry. I enjoy working with pleasant staff and patients. I work hard to provide a gentle, friendly, and empathetic approach to my work. My interests outside of dentistry include cooking, watching movies, reading, painting, and keeping fit through walking and yoga.

Katherine Cholsh

Dental Hygienist  |  Diploma of Dental Hygiene

I completed a Diploma of Dental Hygiene at the Gilles Plains College of TAFE SA in 2000 and received the Dental Hygienist Association SA Student Award and Faculty Student of the Year. I have worked previously in some of Adelaide’s leading practices, including with Dr Jeffrey Mant and Dr Peter Alldritt. I have been working with the National Dental Care team at Bart Dental since 2005. I strongly believe in the importance of preventative dentistry, and enjoy motivating and encouraging my patients to think the same. I work hard to present a gentle, professional and caring manner. I love helping patients achieve the best possible smile and maintaining their oral hygiene to a high standard. The best part of working at my current practice is the long-term relationships I have been able to develop with loyal patients. I work hard to consistently provide a high standard of customer service, and try to exceed patient expectations. I am a current member of the Dental Hygienists’ Association of Australia (SA branch). I continue to undertake further education, recently completing a certificate in panoramic radiography.
