Dr Clare McCusker
Dentist | BDS (Gla)
I graduated from the University of Glasgow with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2013 and have worked in both community and general practice since.
Since graduating I have worked to develop my dental skills and knowledge, participating in continuing professional development courses and I passed the MFDS exam to join the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2015.
Dentistry is a profession that I enjoy. I like the actual dentistry itself, particularly restorative dentistry and endodontics, and I appreciate the opportunities it has for career long learning. One of the aspects of dentistry I enjoy most is getting to know my patients, working with them to help them achieve the beautiful and healthy smile they desire in an environment which I hope they find friendly and as comfortable as possible!
I first had the opportunity to visit Australia when I carried out a placement with the RFDS as part of my degree and it is a country I hope to explore more of while living here. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling and exploring my surroundings.
I graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2011. Since then I’ve been working in private practices. I offer all aspects of general dentistry and enjoy cosmetic work, and am very good at calming nervous patients. The things that excite me in dentistry are that I get to know my patients, to do delicate hands-on work that will make a difference to their oral health and general happiness, and there are plenty of opportunities to continually advance my skills.
When I’m not at the dental practice, I work as a dental tutor, translator, and coach.
Oral Health Therapist | BOH (Adel)
I graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Oral Health degree. My degree allows me to provide thorough hygiene treatment for all ages and also dental treatment for children up to the age of 18 years old. I especially love to see patients as young as 18 months old to give them a wonderful and positive first dental experience. My goal is to show patients, young and old, that dental visits can be enjoyable, or less daunting than you expect. One of the most rewards aspects in dentistry for me is to assist patients with dental anxiety/phobias help overcome their fears. I am passionate about motivating patients to maintain their oral health and to understand the importance of dental hygiene, while developing a friendly relationship.
I also have a special interest in tooth whitening and have been trained in multiple types of tooth whitening to deliver safe and comfortable treatment for every patient. When I am not working at the clinic, I like to bake and spend time with my dogs.
