Dr. Debbie Leong
Dentist | BDSC (Qld)
I was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and arrived in Brisbane as an overseas student. I obtained her Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Queensland and have since then worked relentlessly as a dentist in private practice.
I founded DL Dental in Alexandra Hills in 1993 and have built the practice into the successful, state of the art, five-surgery practice that it is today. I was extremely proud when the practice won the prestigious Redland Retail Award in 2013 for the best in the medical field, and am happy that it has been a finalist on numerous other occasions.
I have a passion for humanitarian work in developing countries, and often provide free dental treatment with my team of volunteers. The team have been to Kenya, Laos and the South Pacific Islands. DL Dental also has ‘Charity Days’ where its doors are closed to paying patients and the disadvantaged and struggling poor in the Redlands City are welcomed for free treatment. I am a firm believer that it is more blessed to give than to receive.
My special interest is cosmetic dentistry. I have given many patients a greater smile and have developed a trusting and friendly rapport with many in the area. I love entertaining, cooking and staying active with tennis and the gym.

Dentist | BOH(DentSci)
I graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Dental Science in 2011.
I started my career in Government Dental, where I have gained extensive experience in all aspects of dentistry, especially in the removal of wisdom teeth. As well as working at DL Dental I also work as a Clinical Demonstrator for dental students at Griffith University, one afternoon per week. I have a special interest in implants and orthodontics, which I am keen on providing at DL Dental in the future.
I have a calm and patient demeanour, so if you have a phobia of Dentists, it is my goal to make sure you are comfortable and relaxed throughout your course of care.
When I am not working, I enjoy playing tennis socially and I an enthusiastic movie goer.
Dr. Katie Lu
Dentist | BDSc
I obtained my Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Adelaide, and early in my dental career I developed an interest in cosmetic dentistry. I believe in the difference a beautiful smile can make in improving multiple facets of my patients’ lives. I am passionate about providing a positive experience for all aged patients. I work long hours to make this happen, but also keep myself busy outside of work. I love to latin dance, shop, travel, or explore a new culinary delight!
Oral Health Therapist | BOH (Qld)
I graduated from the University of Queensland in 2011 with a Bachelor in Oral Health and have been passionate about therapy ever since. Shortly after graduation I began work at DL Dental in a casual role, which soon progressed to a full time position as an Oral Health Therapist.
I thrive on the diversity of my role and the combination of hygiene treatment and dental therapy. My hygiene treatment ranges from routine cleans to more extensive periodontal management cases. I love seeing patients respond to my treatments and education as they come to realise how important healthy gums are to their dental and general health.
Whilst I do love this aspect, my primary passion is paediatric therapy and I work to make dentistry enjoyable for my patients through toys, stories and my signature origami gifts. I work closely with various paediatric and periodontal specialists to ensure a high level of care is maintained for all patients.
When not working I can be found road cycling, music producing, motorbike riding or drinking coffee.
Oral Health Therapist | BOH (Qld)
I graduated from The University of Queensland with a Bachelor in Oral Health; giving me a dual qualification as a Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist. I thoroughly enjoy both aspects of my role- from providing preventive treatment for adults as well as full dental treatment for children.
The regular visits to the dentist as a child intrigued me to a career in dentistry. Having been on the receiving end and facing dental anxiety first hand, I am someone who understands my patients. Through my gentle and genuine care, I strive to provide you and your family with a comfortable and positive experience.
I am a member of The Dental Hygienists’ Association of Australia (DHAA) and the Australian Dental and Oral Health Therapists’ Association (ADOHTA). The continuing education from seminars and training courses keeps me up to date with the latest research and products.
Outside of work, I am a volunteer with Tsu Chi Foundation which provides oral health care to refugees and those in need.
On my days off I enjoy exploring cafes, finding the best ‘brunch’ eats and catching up with friends.
