General Anaesthetic - National Dental Care
Do you have dental phobias or a traumatic past experience?

General anaesthetic is mostly used in complicated oral surgery, but is also an option you can discuss with your National Dental Care dentist if you have any major anxieties related to dental procedures, such as phobias or traumatic past experiences.

What is general anaesthesia?

General anaesthesia causes a state of complete unconsciousness, and can last for up to several hours post-operation.

For all dental procedures under general anaesthetic, National Dental Care dentists work closely with anaesthetists who are medical specialists, specifically trained and experienced in administering general anaesthesia. The anaesthetists assess each patient, administer anaesthesia, and monitor patients before and after the procedure.
