Frequently Asked Questions:

I have Teacher’s Health Insurance. Can I visit a NDC dental practice?

Yes, as a preferred provider of Teacher’s Health, you most certainly can visit one of our dental practices. In addition, the Teacher’s Health fund works hand-in-hand with us, to offer you improved rates and discounts – in comparison to other dental practices.

Does that mean I receive more benefits than other NDC Dental patients do?

You may perhaps receive more benefits than other patients, but this would all depend on which health fund they are with, or if they have a health fund at all.

Do you accept other health insurance funds, besides Teacher’s Health?

We accept a range of alternative health funds, including all major providers – see our Preferred Funds page for more information. The biggest difference with Teacher’s Health is that we are a preferred provider with their fund.

Are there any waiting periods?

There can be some waiting periods on occasion, particularly for major dental work. We advise that you start with a ‘check-up and clean’, and if you require further treatment, our dentists can assist you with the processes moving forward.

How do I avoid surprise expenses?

At National Dental Care, we try to make the process as simple and understandable as possible, by putting all treatment plans in writing. This means you have the information you need to consider your budget, before proceeding with any treatments. We appreciate finances can play a big role in dental care and we offer various payment options, including our very own Smile Fund, which gives you the ability to treat now and pay in weekly, fortnightly, or monthly installments.

Is Invisalign covered by my health insurance?

In most cases, health insurance providers can offer some form of cover for Orthodontics, but this could be under a lifetime limit or other limitations. We advise that you contact your provider directly and ask them about the benefits of your cover.
