Courtenay Briskey, one of our amazing OHTs joined the Fanelli Dental Team in 2016. Providing both Therapy and Hygiene for all ages, she quickly found a love of early intervention and functional orthodontics.

Courtenay works with Dr Remo Fanelli developing individualized treatments to maximise airways, create balanced faces and beautiful smiles. For our younger patients this is done through the use of a variety of removable orthodontic appliances and orofacial myology (exercises for the muscles of the face, lips and tongue) to expand crowded dentition, treat oral habits develop correct swallowing, create lip seal /nasal breathing and establish correct tongue posture.

Courtenay has undergone extensive further studies in the areas of Orofacial Myology, periodontal care and Orthodontics.

Outside of work, Courtenay loves to spend time with her growing family.

Dr Emma Freeman, a Central Queensland local, joined the Fanelli Dental Team in 2019. Emma spent spend most of her childhood living in Biloela, and then in Gladstone before following her passion to study dentistry at JCU.

After working in North Queensland she returned to Gladstone to join Fanelli Dental to a follow her interest in airway focused dentistry.

Dr Emma has gained a large following for her caring and gentle approach with her patients putting them at ease during treatment with laughter often coming out of her room.

Outside of dentistry, Emma loves spending time with her family and her beloved dogs Spud and Nugget. She also loves anything crafty, the colour green and loves to bake!

Karen Moy joined the Fanelli Dental Team in 2020 after an impressive career in Sydney working with leading specialists in the area of periodontics, implants and cosmetic dentistry.

Her knowledge and subsequent treatment of all things gum health is second to none and the Fanelli Dental patients are reaping the benefit of her immense knowledge and skills as she works with them to restore their dental health.

Karen loves talking all things periodontics and aligners and providing gentle and amazing cleans with Biofilm Therapy for her patients.

Karen’s passion for dental hygiene is matched only by her passion for her sport of triathlon. Each morning, evening and weekends, Karen can be found running, swimming or cycling for hours and competing in Iron Man competitions throughout the world including the world championships in Hawaii.

With over 35 years experience in dentistry Dr Remo Fanelli has become a leader in his field. Remo has a special interest in the whole patient not just their teeth! This has led him to extensive training in many varied areas of dentistry including orthodontics, implants, cosmetic dentistry, TMJ, sleep dentistry and full mouth rehabilitation.

Being a lifelong learner, he soon realised that there were many aspects to dental treatment that can affect patients' everyday life. His passion for learning led to obtaining the very best training from leaders in the various fields both in Australia and overseas and is proud to bring back the latest technology and treatments for the people of the Gladstone region.

Remo likes to take the time to listen to his patient’s concerns and customise treatment plans for them to achieve their optimal dental goals. Patients often leave his consultation amazed at what they have discovered.

As well as enjoying time with the family, Remo is a bit of a sports tragic following most sports, especially rugby league. If time permits he will even try to reduce his golf handicap.

Renee Jurgens “the child whisper” is one of our highly experienced Oral Health Therapists graduating from CQU.

Starting in the dental industry for over 20 years, Renee is trained in both therapy and hygiene for all ages. Renee has gained a wonderful reputation throughout the region for treating children and adults alike especially those with dental anxiety and special needs. Renee works with her patients customizing treatment so that they always feel in control and comfortable in the dental setting.

Renee has completed extensive further studies in airway, facial and dental development from birth, orofacial myology and is a qualified Thumb Sucking Professional, and Myomunchees Provider. As well Renee has undergone training in the latest comprehensive diagnostics and treatments for in periodontal care.

Outside of work, Renee loves to bake (we love her Cheese scones!) her dogs, early morning exercise and spending time with her family.

Dr Stephen or otherwise called “the Irishman” moved to Australia to join Fanelli Dental in 2014. After many years of dentistry in Ireland, Stephen decided to search for sunshine and found his paradise in the Gladstone region!

Dr Stephen provides treatment in all areas of general dental with a special interest in Root Canal Treatment.

Outside of dentistry, Stephen can be found in the great outdoors, exploring beaches and national parks on his mountain bike, motor bike or 4-wheel drive or sailing in the Gladstone Harbour.

Zoe Walmsley is another of our amazing OHT with a degree in Oral Health Therapy from CQU. Starting her career with Fanelli Dental, Zoe quickly developed a loyal following. After having twins early in her career, Zoe has now returned to Fanelli Dental. Known for her gentle and caring approach, Zoe has undergone further training in the treatment of 0-4 years and now with her own young family, has a greater understanding of the importance of airways, oral habits and feeding in infants. Zoe also provides treatment for adults using Guided Biofilm Therapy and advanced periodontal care.

Outside of work, Zoe and her husband are the proud parents of twin boys who certainly keep her busy!
