The first step in providing you with the ultimate oral health care starts with information, allowing you to make well informed decisions.
With a history spanning 10 years, Mawson Lakes Dental is complete with newly refurbished treatment rooms and state of art equipment. Our team of dentists, dental hygienists and dental therapists are friendly, caring and highly experienced.
We understand that going to the dentist can be stressful, which is why we devote our time in making sure you feel at ease. Whether that’s through information, friendliness and empathy or pain management such as happy gas, we’re always here for you.
New Patient Experience
On arrival for your first visit, you can expect a thorough dental examination to assess the current state of your oral health. Your complete medical history will be taken so it’s important to remember to bring along a list of any medications you are currently taking. Certain medical conditions and medications may affect your oral health.
To help in diagnosing your oral health, you will be given the option of having digital radiographs taken to check for tooth decay and periodontal disease.
We will then conduct a thorough check of your dentition, the health of your gums and any existing fillings that may be corroding or broken will be identified. We’ll also be looking for any signs of decay, acid wear or abrasion that might be present.
It’s not all about the teeth! We also pay close attention to your jaw joint and the corresponding muscles, examining the tongue, cheeks and other structures to check for signs of disease such as oral cancer.
After your examination, you will receive a personally tailored treatment plan that includes a preventative focus to help maintain your oral health in the long term.
