Planning for the school holidays - National Dental Care

Have you booked in your family’s dental appointment?

School holidays come and go so quickly. Now is an ideal time to secure a visit to the dentist.

FREE Kids Dental*

Are your kids eligible for the Child Dental Benefit Schedule (CDBS)? This means children aged 2-17 years of age have access to $1000 on eligible dental services to use every two years, including examinations, x-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals and extractions. Benefits are not available for orthodontics or cosmetic dental work and cannot be paid for any services provided in a hospital.

The CDBS continues to be means tested, which requires Family Tax Benefit Part A or a relevant Australian Government payment.

CDBS is available at all National Dental Care locations, in accordance with eligibility and terms and conditions. If you have never accessed CDBS before, contact your local National Dental Care clinic to discuss how it works and the options to your family.

*Available to eligible patients covered by the Commonwealth Government’s Child Dental Benefits Schedule.

Private health insurance

If your family have private health insurance, make sure to check your rebates and when it resets.

This will ensure you can plan ahead and make the most of your dental benefits.

Most dental benefits allow two dental checkups a year.

Regular dental visits ensures you are protecting you and your family’s health, and get them on track for a lifetime of great oral health for generations to come.

Plan ahead before the holidays get busy!
