FAQs - National Dental Care
Frequently Asked Questions.

Want to know what it’s really like to work for a corporate dentistry organisation like National Dental Care?
Find out all of this and more below.

Aren’t corporate dental businesses all about delivering high volume, low value treatment?

Absolutely not. National Dental Care is focused on delivering the highest of clinical standards to our patients, providing a range of industry leading treatment options. You can set your own appointment lengths and perform ethical dentistry in a professional and patient centric environment.

How are dentists paid?

Our dentists are engaged on Facilities and Services Agreements, and are paid a competitive commission percentage of their production, based on their level of post graduate experience. In some cases, dentists are provided with a retainer to reduce their financial risk and allow them to focus on building their patient base.

What are the benefits of working for National Dental Care?

We invest heavily in practice technology, and in the professionalisation of our clinicians. You will have opportunity to work with the very best equipment and materials, and have access to a range of training and development prospects. You will also be eligible for participation in our comprehensive Staff Benefits program, with a range of offers and discounts available across a number of categories. As part of a national network, you can also take advantage of our relocation policy to move to a different part of the country, or if you’d prefer, take on a short term locum assignment for a change of scenery.

How many patients can I expect to see in a day?

We have steady patient flow through our practices, and the practice support staff and dedicated Contact Centre are in place to ensure that patients are reminded of their rebookings and incomplete treatment plans. Our Marketing team is also responsible for partnering with practices to provide up to date information to existing and prospective patients. Whilst these support functions are in place to assist our clinicians, how you interact with your patients and the rapport you build with them is also vital in ensuring you have a strong return rate of patients.

Who can I speak to for clinical guidance?

National Dental Care work with dentists from a variety of backgrounds, and encourage networking amongst clinicians. Our Lead Dentists possess decades of experience, and are available to provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced dentists, whilst a number of our general dentists have interests in specialisations, such as periodontics, orthodontics, implantology and prosthodontics. We also have a Clinical Oversight Committee in the business, comprised of our most senior dentists, who are responsible for ensuring clinical excellence across the network, as well as a Chief Clinical Officer. So whatever your experience level, there are clinicians within the business who can provide you with guidance or an opportunity to simply expand your professional network.

Can I work part time?

Yes, we have dentists who work anywhere from two days per week to five days per week, depending on their availability. Saturdays and late evenings are also available in many of our practices.
